IISS Southeast Asian Young Leaders’ Programme Visiting Fellowship 2024 (Stipend of SGD 5,300)
To enhance the region’s presence in wider discussions on international security, the IISS will once more welcome two visiting fellows affiliated with the Southeast Asian Young Leaders Program to its Asia headquarters in Singapore in 2024.
The two fellows will be asked to work with the IISS in Singapore for a maximum of three months. They will conduct research on a regional security topic and participate in the SAYLP and the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.
Benefits of IISS Southeast Asian Young Leaders’ Programme Visiting Fellowship 2024
- A monthly salary of SGD 5,300 will be provided to fellows, and lodging and travel costs will also be paid for. Regretfully, we are unable to examine applications for the fellowship that will be conducted remotely.
Eligibility Criteria for IISS Southeast Asian Young Leaders’ Programme Visiting Fellowship 2024
- Available to nationals of Timor-Leste, Pacific Island states, and ASEAN member states.
- The applicant must be professionally proficient in both written and spoken English.
- A solid foundation in one of the institute’s study areas.
- Make plans to work on security issues in academia, journalism, politics, the armed forces, or as an analyst in the government in the future.
- Early to midway through their professional lives.
Application for IISS Southeast Asian Young Leaders’ Programme Visiting Fellowship 2024
- Applicants must submit their applications and adhere to the guidelines to submit two documents:
- A cover letter outlining your interest in the fellowship, the proposed research area, and the dates in 2024 that you are available to begin the fellowship should be included.
- A CV, or curriculum vitae, with the names and contact information of two possible referees.
On February 8, 2024, the application must be received. After the email of recognition, though, only those candidates selected for an interview will hear back.
This is due to the anticipated high volume of submissions.
