    Applications are invited for the Women Income Generation Opportunities Initiative (WIGOI) 2024. Siemens Stiftung and Capital Solutions Limited are collaborating on the (WIGOI) project.

    Women Income Generation Opportunities Initiative (WIGOI) 2024

    Through this initiative, young women (18–30 years old) living in semi-urban and rural areas will receive specialised 360° educational solutions to increase their incomes and career opportunities. This is a very interactive program that offers: networking opportunities through the Social Entrepreneurship Forum; capacity building; coaching and mentoring; face-to-face site visits; personal and business profiles on all social media platforms, and access to small debt capital through the Social Investment Fund.

    In this call for applications, 100 young women from semi-urban, rural, and marginalised backgrounds—including refugees and people with disabilities—are sought after to participate in a demanding program that will change their lives through vocational and career skill-building engagements.

    Background for Women Income Generation Opportunities Initiative (WIGOI) 2024

    Capital Solutions Ltd. (CSL) is a social enterprise that was founded in Uganda in 2014 with the mission of empowering, transforming, and enhancing the capacity of social entrepreneurs—small- and medium-sized businesses led by women and young people—that engage with underprivileged communities throughout Africa. Our goal is to empower, uplift, and strengthen African social entrepreneurs by expanding their financial options and building their capacity to make long-lasting social contributions.

    Eligibility Criteria for (WIGOI) 2024

    Open to Ugandan young women aged 18 to 30. The following will receive special attention: agriculture, health, education, renewable energy, and climate change.

    The following are the requirements for entry:

    • At ease utilising digital tools.
    • Competency in both written and spoken English.
    • Ability to use a computer or smartphone to access the internet regularly (at least every two weeks).
    • Show up for the scheduled in-person meetings.

    By February 29, 2024, applicants must submit their completed applications. Applications that arrive late won’t be accepted.
