Data Engineering Functions
- Design and implement data structures and processes for data acquisition, ETL, and metadata management.
- Perform data profiling and quality assessments to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Enrich metadata and capture data provenance and lineage to support transparency and reliability.
- Provide ongoing support for data engineering solutions, maintaining compliance with industry best practices.

This role requires:
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of data engineering frameworks, technologies, tools, and best practices, including a strong understanding of architecture and infrastructure.
- Complex Problem Solving: Independently perform technical tasks and analyze complex issues.
- Design & Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, code, test, debug, and implement solutions, adapting established patterns to address unique business challenges.
- Subject Matter Leadership: Recognized as a data expert, contributing to pattern evolution and leading data engineering initiatives across the organization.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s, postgraduate degree, or technical certification in data management, computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or data management.
Customer Accountabilities
- Data Analysis & Management: Conduct in-depth analysis to assess data management needs across platforms and journeys, especially where complex data sets intersect multiple systems.
- Business Communication: Translate complex technical information into clear insights for business partners and stakeholders.
- End-to-End Data Solutions: Develop comprehensive data models, manage data life-cycle governance, and ensure data is compliant with enterprise standards.
- Technical Support: Provide expert support during development, testing, and issue resolution, assisting partners in data interpretation.
Shareholder Accountabilities
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work with technology teams (ITS, ARE, Architecture) to support data engineering success and project delivery.
- Quality Assurance & Deployment: Support QA testing, post-implementation troubleshooting, and deployment into higher environments.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure data solutions adhere to enterprise governance standards, capturing metadata and lineage, managing risks, and applying secure coding practices.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share expertise with team members, guiding them in engineering best practices, and participating in architectural design reviews.

- Team Collaboration: Contribute as an active team member, fostering a positive work environment focused on quality and innovation.
