A group of undergraduate students who identify as women will be selected from the applicant pool, with scholarships awarded based on the candidate’s contributions to diversity, demonstrated leadership abilities, and academic achievements.

    • Selected students will receive a €5,000 award for two consecutive years during their undergraduate studies.

    Eligibility Requirements

    To qualify for application, you must:

    • Be currently enrolled as a first or second-year undergraduate student at an Irish university for the 2023-2024 academic year.
    • Make a plan to continue pursuing their Bachelor’s degree at an Irish university for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years
    • You have to be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
    • Demonstrate a strong academic track record Exhibit leadership qualities and a dedication to improving representation for underrepresented groups in computer science and technology

    Application Requirements 

    To apply, you are required to complete an online application and provide the following:

    • General background information (e.g., contact details, current and intended universities)
    • Resume/CV
    • Academic transcripts from their current institution
    • Responses to short-answer essay questions

    Essay Questions

    The purpose of the two short-answer essay questions is to evaluate your problem-solving skills and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Each response should be minimum 500 words or less.

    • Describe a period when you faced a complex problem without a clear solution path. Detail the steps you took to resolve, including the resources and solutions considered. What insights did you gain from this experience? This can involve challenges from school, work, extracurricular activities, or home.
    • From your personal experiences, identify a barrier hindering equitable access to technology fields. What do you believe is the underlying cause? Describe actions you’ve taken to address this inequity and your plans. Channel at least half of your response on your actions taken. The impact can manifest in various forms and scales.

    To be eligible for this scholarship, you:

    • Must be currently enrolled as full-time second or third-year undergraduate students at any accredited universities in the Asia Pacific region for the 2023-2024 academic year.
    • Should intend to continue pursuing a full-time Bachelor’s program at accredited universities in the Asia Pacific region for the 2024-2025 academic year.
    • Must be interested in any of the following fields; computer science, computer engineering, or closely related technical fields.
    • Must have a strong academic record and demonstrate leadership qualities, especially in improving the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

    • Selected students will receive an amount of USD 2,500 for the 2024-2025 academic year.
