Responsibilities
Here are the main tasks that you’ll be responsible for as a steward at Park Hyatt Chicago:
- Cleaning and sanitizing: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using both commercial dishwashing machines and manual cleaning methods.
- Organizing kitchenware: Ensure that clean dishes and utensils are properly stored in their designated places to maintain kitchen organization.
- Assisting kitchen staff: Work alongside the kitchen staff to ensure that clean supplies are always available when needed.
- Handling waste management: Properly dispose of trash and recycling materials in a timely and environmentally friendly manner.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards: Keep floors, counters, and workspaces clean and free of debris to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
- Supporting kitchen safety: Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of both staff and guests.
Requirement
- Preferably, prior experience in a related position in the food service or hospitality industry.
- Strong focus on details and dedication to upholding hygienic and sanitary standards.
- The capacity to function well in a hectic setting while exhibiting adaptation and flexibility.
- Outstanding teamwork and communication abilities, including the capacity to work well with others.
- Understanding how to handle and store chemicals, cleaning supplies, and culinary equipment properly.
- The ability to lift moderate weights requires physical stamina.
- The capacity to stand and walk for moderate periods.
- All shifts, weekends, and holidays must have open availability.
- Dedication to maintaining Park Hyatt Chicago’s principles and standards.
