TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship 2024 (Rs. 80,000 grant)
This is a chance to create excellent English-language investigative work that will be published by the collective and made available for local newsrooms to co-publish.
Candidates with at least two years of reporting experience will be given the inaugural fellowship to work on their proposed ambitious investigative project. Citizens who support the work of the Reporters’ Collective (TRC) are funding this fellowship.
Journalists from all around India are invited to submit ideas for stories that fit these themes:
- The political economy of India.
- Climatic change and the environment.
- Digital security and technology.
- Accountability and governance.
- Policies and public health.
Grant for TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship 2024
For the narrative, the selected individual will get a grant of Rs. 80,000 (taxes included). This does not include the cost of reporting-related travel. 20% of the award will be paid out right away upon acceptance, 40% once the draft is turned in, and the remaining funds will be released when the story is published. Travel expenditures and other costs associated to reporting will be refunded when the bills are submitted and the final payment is received.
Eligibility Criteria for TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship 2024
- Available to independent reporters with a minimum of two years of full-time reporting experience.
- Journalists who have a large-scale investigative story idea that will take time and money to complete.
- The suggested story should have advanced past the preliminary reporting phase and be supported by documentation to persuade our editors to approve the project.
Application for TRC Investigative Reporting Fellowship 2024
The fellowship will run from March 1 through May 31, 2024. The candidates must provide a draft work plan detailing the important dates and checkpoints for their research endeavor.
